You know how sometimes you’ll have never heard of something, and then all of a sudden it keeps popping up as if you’re the only one not in the loop? For instance, I try to listen to a lot of different types of music. If I don’t like it, then I don’t like it but I can at least speak semi-intelligently about it. However, until today I had never heard of dubstep. According to Wikipedia’s article on the subject, it “is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in South East London. Its overall sound has been described as ‘tightly coiled productions with overwhelming bass lines and reverberant drum patterns, clipped samples, and occasional vocals’.” It’s probably easier to hear it than read about it. The first time I saw it today was when youtube recommended a cover of a Feist song I like.

Then, on BoingBoing they had an article entitled thusly: “Daladubz Puts Dumbo to Dubstep”. There’s that word again!!! This mash-up music from Dumbo reminds me a lot of a previous remix I featured on Snow White. (Just a quick note… the player below will have written comments pop up that aren’t exactly blog-friendly. Just click on the little “word bubble” in the bottom right hand corner and it won’t show them).
