Black Coffee

You know that saying about “eating your feelings?”  Well, I thought this morning I would do a bit of “sketching my feelings.”

Also, I’m pretty sure this woman used to work at Flim Flam in Ann Arbor.

Now true, I’m not a smoker, but if black and white cinema has taught us anything it’s that cigarettes make great dramatic props (well, not if the U.S. Postal Service has anything to say about it!)

  1. The reference to the U.S. Postal Service is hilarious. I got a kick out of reading the comments under the stamp photos regarding the Robert Johnson/Jackson Pollack airbrushings. One referenced a bronze of Robert Luis Stevenson holding a cigarette and a copy this bronze in a museum which had replaced the cigarette with a fountain pen. I don't know how you find this stuff but so glad I can find it on your blog
